| History: |
| The Department of Commerce, formally set up as a separate entity in October 1993,has imbibed the tradition of exploring new frontiers of knowledge and innovation in academics. In its history Spanning over 16 years, it has redefined commerce education in the State. The Department has the legitimate claim and pride of being the premier institution in Meerut region for being the First, in Any All women Organization Ever ,course curriculum development, teaching and researches in Commerce discipline.Started with just 25 students in hand & two faculty members, it has come a long way with a total strength of 350 students & 5 Faculty members now. The rapid growth of the Department of Commerce is reflected in its expansion as well as novelty in its academic programmes . This has led to the commencement of B.Com & Master level M.Com. Programmes. . In the short period of over 16 years, these courses have made a mark through teaching and research in all contemporary areas of International Business and Human Resource Management |

The market is like a battlefield today and competition is war. Under such a scenario, it becomes imperative for enterprises to strategize their moves, seek to achieve a comparative advantage and enhance the excellence of their strategic human capital. The spillover of liberalization and globalization has been observed in every sector of the economy having a cascading effect on each and every activity in the organization - be it marketing, finance, or human resource. Newer paradigms evolving in corporate and industrial world have resulted in increased need for efficient solution providers with coherent perspectives, updated knowledge and technologies.
The world today needs leaders and managers who are willing to continuously learn, unlearn and change; who are skillful to recognize opportunities and act; and who are capable of working together and with people.
Department of Commerce, aims at developing leaders with knowledge and skills essential to challenge and revel in today’s fiercely competitive global business environment. As part of the Raghunath Girls’ P.G. College , the Department of Commerce is known for its academic excellence, quality research and industry interface. We in the Department are committed to adherence to pursuits and provision of corporate world’s real life work exposure to the students, value creation with emphasis on academics. With the ever changing business world, advances in management thoughts and increasing globalization of education, it is imperative that we update ourselves on a continuous basis and each train the students in a multicultural context in multiple disciplines. Students are selected from diverse educational, professional and cultural backgrounds. They are taught various concepts, theories and an understanding of national and international business complexities through case studies, presentations, role plays, guest lectures and conferences to attune them to the present and future business requirements. Also, courses are constantly updated with invaluable inputs from the industry and professionals so that the students are taught today what they have to practice tomorrow.
We do hope that our students with such a highly acclaimed academic pedigree of skills, competencies and values that we inculcate in them during the period of their stay with us will prove invaluable to any and every organization that they may join in future. |

| In year 2006 a one day National Seminar under the Banner of NAAC on “Teacher’s Role in Quality Enhancement Of College Education”, was well attended. She also took part in a Seminar on “ Higher Education” organized by ICFAI, National College, Meerut. To enhance her knowledge she attended various Seminars like : A seminar organized by R.G.P.G. College on “Intellectual Property Rights”, “Rural Economy at door-step Economic Revolution”(D.N.College), “Protection of Consumers’ Rights”(IIPA,Bareilly) A workshop held by Our own college on “Branding in Higher Education” was attended in year 2006. |
