History:
Department of Computer Applications was established in Raghunath Girls’ P.G.College, in the year 2000, with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation the department has always produced quality professionals, holding important positions in Information Technology industry.
This department runs under the Chaudhary Charan Singh UniversityMeerut(U.P.) Deptt. came into existance in Year 2000,as the Result of a Proposal for a Vocational Course by Faculty Of Economics ,under financial grant by the UGC, for five years. After completing its grant period successfully i.e. 5 Yrs. it was given recognition under Self Finance Course Category.It is placed at the North of the Entrance Gate of College Campus. Under the sincere guidance of then Co- Ordinator, Dr.(Mrs.) Indira Manoharan,the Department was set up with the objective of providing computer facilities to the desirous Students, as well as for teaching and training facilities to the teaching & Non-Teaching staff of the college for the purpose of spreading computer literacy & applications.
For last five years, under the considerate Wings of our present Co- Ordinator , Dr. Mrs. Neena Batra ,the Department has matured as nodal centre for spreading the computer training and education in the developing state of Meerut.
Academic Programmes :
The Department started the three years Computer Applications programme in the year 2000, which was among the first such programmes in region.
The Department started Computer Applications course with the aim to develop core competence in Computer Science and prepare the students to carry out development work, as well as take up challenges in IT field.
The Department mainly conducts Undergraduate programme in Computer Applications.
Besides it conducts Short Term Certificate Course & Summer Courses in various dimensions of Computer Applications & Programming at a very nominal fee.

Extra-Curricular activities:
Academics are not our only concern. For all-round development of future hiers , the Department organizes Seminars,Essay Competitions, Sketch Competitions etc.In Year 2001,The Department organized a one day Seminar on:
“ Internet & GenNext”. “Prof . Rathi (Retd., CCS, University,Meerut) , the Chief Guest obliged the students & the whole College fraternity with his valuable views on the topic.
Besides , students , from all other Departments also expressed their views.In the same Year Our Department organized an essay Competition To encourage the Creative Side of our students,we organized An Inter-College Competition on:“Best ,out of Waste”To unhide the hidden talent of our Young Artists the Department gave them a chance through a Sketch Competition.In Year 2008
